The world's most expensive sandwhich costs about $140 USD, and is sold at Selfridges in London. Watch the video. It consists of bread, Wagyu beef, foie gras, truffle mayo, brie de meaux, red pepper, lettuce, mustard confit, and plum tomatoes. Some of that sounds good...but definately not worth blowing $140 on! That's worth several sushi meals.

Also...I just found the perfect complement for this lunch. Although, you will have to attend the Kentucky Derby on May 6th for it. It is the "ultimate" mint julep, costing $1000 USD. It will be served in a 24kt gold plated cup and sipped through a silver straw. Made with one of the state's finest bourbons, the drink features mint from Morocco, ice from the Artic Circle, and sugar from the South Pacific. That partially explains the price...also, Churhill Downs will funnel money from the sales of the drinks to the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation which provides homes for former race horses.

drained

Another day off to a fantastic start. I woke up late, and any order I was able to make yesterday out of the million things floating crazily around my head, is gone. I can't even think of two things I need to do today. I realized yesterday (well Chad realized) that I never renewed my car's registration...and now I have to pay a late fee. I need to do that today, before I get pulled over.
Not only did I wake up late, then our dog waits until right after we let her back in, to have an accident on the floor. My mom has already called around to find out the cost of having her put down. She said once, that "one way or another she has to be gone before the wedding," because there is no one to take care of her for the weekend. I have very mixed feelings about this, for alot of reasons that I don't really want to discuss.
The weather is nice and drizzly...usually I like weather like that. I think it's keeping me calm. If it was bright and sunny, I would just be pissed off...and my mood would be worse.

I'm just having one of those days where I feel overwhelmingly down in the dumps. Can't see any concrete reason why...and the weather outside is beautiful. I just somehow seem to see the bad in everything today. Probably related to stress, I do feel like my brain is overheating. But I have no motivation to work on the things that need to be done.

I want my hour back!

posted by sometrouble @ 4:35 PM | Test Category Two | Monday, April 03, 2006

Whoever thought up daylight savings time was a complete idiot. There is no good reason for only some parts of the nation to collectively agree to ignore natural time and create their own. I can't see the point in it...this weekend we had to "spring ahead" and in the autumn, we will "fall back"...that puts us right back where we started. Just because everyone wants the summer sunlight to last longer in the evenings. So they have to chop out an hour of my life...and an hour of my precious sleeping time, at that.

I have been so busy this last week especially, since the invitations came in, and we have a million to address. So practically every night when I get off work, I go to my grandmother's house, which is where we decided the best place to keep things set out while we work would be, and try to concentrate on writing the correct addresses and spelling people's names right while everyone else wants to make conversation around me while they stuff the envelopes. And my brain is already fried from work. I needed all the hours I could get this weekend to catch up...now it's going to take me until next fall when they give my hour back for me to feel rested again.
